Not Forever Mamaland
NOT FOREVER MAMALAND
Down the valleys, through the greens
Fresh air I have missed in years
Still beautiful, still warm are you mamaland
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
The morning corn, the ewe’s milk
What beautiful mornings I missed
The cattle rushing to graze, freedom mamaland
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
The city men say you are old
You stink and have no technology
I love your tranquil and peace mamaland
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
The big man gave me a cheque and contacts
His friends too will b coming soon
Its time we cleaned and upgraded mamaland
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
They talked of tarmac, rails and bridges
Heard also of schools, hospitals and malls
I begged them to do it for you mamaland
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
Your children will now write their language
Tap the keyboards and speak with the phones
Will have you online, your beauty for all to see
Gone I was but not forever mamaland
