Not Far From Hue

we were cavalry, an M48 Patton tank crew, usually four; and it was hot and we needed a rest and waited for a fuel-up; and we weren't far from Hue on the edge of the thick-green, leech-ridden jungle, and felt safe, OK; and just then we heard a small motorbike engine approaching; and looking out, we saw a prostitute had pulled up, quite near, with a coolbox of coca-cola and red $10 lips, and swaying, $20 hips; well I never: and it got me thinking, if she could find us, then Charlie could too; and the whole mood changed.

Interesting write about the war. War...is horrible. I've lived through it here in Lebanon. Spent time in shelters. I can only imagine what it is like to be out there...exposed. Thanks for visiting my work
