Not coming back
It hurts to see the pictures,
Every update of your life
With the knowledge that you're staying.
You're not coming back.
That's your new home.
You've left us behind.
And I know its kind of selfish
But I wish you'd never left.
I should be happy for you
And the others
Who haven't seen family
In over five years.
I know its unfair
To want you back so soon,
Barely a week since you left
But I never wanted you to go.
I could never imagine you leaving
And now I adjust
To the permanence
Of your absence.
