Not Allowed To Speak
Everyone has an opinion
Everyone has a voice
Then why is mine ridiculed?
And thrown in the furnace face.
They say they do not judge,
And we should speak our thoughts
Yet when I say my words
They’re buried in the earth
They say do not be bias
And to keep an open mind
But they won’t hear unless the words
Are sweetened with their lies
And when I speak the truth
They twist and turn and churn
Until the truth I’ve spoken
Lays soiled in the dirt
You are allowed to speak
If you say what they want to hear
But they will never listen
To the truth, too harsh
It burns
