Nonna
In defense of your Life
My mother, my mom,
I plead to you my case.
My spirit implores and my mind ignores,
All the goodness within your soul.
I failed in ways enummerated,
You never did.
I took and ed, while
Your body gave more and more,
So that the love gave,
Made up for the love I took.
I should never deserve
Such a soul as was blessed
Into my life.
And now that you can't hear me speak,
I cannot bear the words
Weighing down in my ears.
