Non-Essential Employees Back At Work
Non-Essential Employees Back at Work
By Elton Camp
It seems Congress has finally come around
To bring an end to the government shutdown
But some egos must have taken a hard blow
That they are “non-essential” to have to know
“My job surely seemed important to me,
But where I stand, I now most clearly see!”
Few employees there are anywhere on Earth
Who like to think they’re of very little worth
And the taxpayers might rightly want to know
Why we need “non-essential” workers, though
Even if they’ve been treated in a shabby way
At least they got a two-week vacation with pay
