No Words

How do you comfort a grieving friend, whose husband chose his life to end? What words can you possibly say, to make the pain, the hurt go away? Feelings of shock and devastation, grief and anger - no explanation, for why he chose to leave this life, abandoning his daughters and his wife. What thoughts were going through his head, to make him wish that he was dead and then to act upon that thought - if only his demons he had fought. Now my friend is left with a broken heart, and I have no words of wisdom to impart. 9/6/16

Sometimes when a person gets in such a dark place they only want to stop the pain, they don't really see how much hurt they will be causing...instead they rationalize their loved ones would be better off without them. Certain medications can cause that kind of deep depression. All you can do is be a friendly ear if your friend needs one. She may find a tiny bit of comfort knowing he is free of that dark pain now. A lovely tribute for your grieving friend Kim. 7

Kim an extremely sad write about a sad situation. There are no words that will comfort a grieving heart. God will do that in his own time. Sounds like male depression to me. Happens every day.

Thank you for your comment, Daniel. It was just so unexpected. No one seemed to have any inkling that there was a problem.

This is so tragic, Kim. It really must hurt your friend so badly. I know (if this is true, which I assume it is) that you will be there for her, and as a Christian be a comfort as you pray for God to comfort her during this very difficult time.

Thank you, Laura. It has been a difficult time, but my friend is a Christian and her church has been very supportive.
