No Words
No Words
Where did you go?
We searched all night.
I cannot feel you,
Are you alright?
Maybe with neighbors?
Hiding in leaves?
Went to your friends,
I half to believe.
As time had passed,
My heart did sink,
No words from you
What should I think?
The fateful day
We got the call,
You weren’t with friends,
Or the neighbors at all.
You were found
So far away
Did you go with
Someone that day?
We brought you back
To your home town,
We swore to you
We’d bring them down.
You looked so pale
Your eyes were closed,
It seemed to look
Like you just dozed.
The tears did come
With so much grief,
How could this be?
Questioning all belief
To lose a spouse
Would hurt so much
To lose the parents
They are your crutch.
To lose a child
What does one say
There are no words
To speak, or pray.
My baby child
I am so lost,
Without you here
Is the ultimate cost.
