No Regrets
She says she
has no life regrets
I envy
Miss Cricket
yet I wonder how she's lived
this long without one?
I wonder
was it worth it all?
To go through
life without
learning anything at all-
to end where you start?
She thinks so
maybe she forgets
unkind words
broken hearts
the things we all leave behind
wish we could take back
No one needs
to live in regret
all the time
yet somehow-
I think we need to regret
certain things in life
Such as the
arrogance of youth
rude, thoughtless
envious
things we have said, not knowing
impact they would have
Regret can
be the best teacher
painful, but
lessons we
will never forget, amid
pain we cause others
Sometimes our
regret pushes us-
self-centered
self-seeking
hedonistic and hurtful-
back toward kindness
(NOTE: Although I listed this as a Free Verse, it is actually in Shadorma form...)
