No Peace In Perfidy

When shadows fall across the land And darkness sweeps the light away Shall I give those who lead a hand, Those who hastened democracy’s fray, Who trafficked in selfish pursuits Lusted for power at our nation’s expense? I shall never speak kindly of sycophants Who for their folly pay no recompense, Who bought into lies imperiling us, Whose conspiracies do not enhance The welfare of our national sovereignty, But promote a perverted song and dance. May they never find peace in perfidy, For such is the fate of those who preen, Who laugh at those of a kinder destiny Who lived a past, and hopeful future seen.

Constitutional Republic, God-ordained...reviled for the very freedoms it engenders. Pathetic future for such a poetic past. Prophetic voices shouted down. Evocative piece, Mr. Hankins. :0/

Way too many, and sometimes I think it has become the norm.

I think we are all searching for the truth and sometimes it is difficult to acquire but we all strive to have a free America, with a transparent government, helping Americans the poor, our veterans, disaster areas, the farmers, those without health care, and our allies. I do not think that is asking for too much. Thanks for sharing Milton...

No, Michael, it isn't asking for that much, consider the price our forefathers paid to give us this free land and to keep it free.
