No One Can Win This Fight

We are sitting on the edge of the world Watching the beginning of the end unfurl As we kill each other in a terrible fight Over deciding which peaceful religion is right We are not willing to forgive those who don’t believe in our all forgiving God When rights are taken away from those who live different than us we stand up and applaud We say God created man in his image – but only those men who are like me And we simply refuse to learn lessons from our too scarred history The morally corrupt wish to legislate morality We want to erect a barricade around the land we call free Politicians say, “Stop casting stones at us, while I lob my grenades your way Don’t do as I do, but do as I say” On each side of the fence we scream, “Mankind is on a terrible decline But that is because of your way of living and not because of mine” We simply cannot see the world from anybody else’s eyes We have lost the ability to sympathize Every dominant civilization eventually comes to an end And a whole new set of absolute truths start settling in The sirens of warning now echo through our world at night When will we ever learn, no one can win this fight?

A great write Joe! These are words of truth not opinion. All dominant nations do eventually come to an end. If each one of us would look in the mirror and do what God asks of us, love one another, the world would look differently. It seems to simple. Blessings, Rhonda
