No More Pretending

Stop pretending That everything's alright Like nothing happened Liek it didn't occur. Stop pretending That you can't see the damage Caused by your ignorance While you slept your life away. Stop pretending That everything's stable In actuality its begun to crumble Chopping down our family tree As it turns to splinters. Stop pretending That you can't learn By saying you can't How will you ever know If you can't even try. Stop pretending That you did nothing wrong Then why did you marry? Why did you have kids? Why don't you love her? Stop pretending That your fine You have a problem In your mind. Memories fading Repeating questions Losing knowledge In an eternal loop Trapped in a time capsule. Stop pretending That your not hurting Cause you lack the empathy To not know how were feeling Your a souless robot That lacks a soul. Stop with the lies Stop with the demands Stop with the mind games Stop your selfish philosophical Way of living! Stop pretending That it'll work out When you can't figure out Why you made our lives Into a living hell. No more excuses No more lies No more demands No more selfishness No more ego Its time you grew up! Take responsibility Step up to the plate Put your manhood on the line Stop kissing people's ass. Strive to do better Strive to be less egotistic Strive not to be selfish Strive to be less slothy. For the love of your family For the love of your daughter For the love of god For the love of life. If you can't learn To change your ways To make yourself better To become a better man A better husband A better father. If you can't learn To appreciate women To apply yourself To be a better person Then you'll never grow up You'll never be a great man. No more pretending anymore Its time to stop your lies Take a step back To take in the damage Then saying everything's alright No more pretending, father.
