No Matter Where We Trod
A country road where sun shines down
No greater beauty can be found.
Such splendor starts each passing day
Where a peaceful walk finds its quiet way.
The distant clouds, with golden glow
Traverse the sky with their dawning show.
My spirit looks up and drinks the cup.
God’s creatures make good mornings grow.
Butterflies flutter on beggar-weeds.
Drinking nectar, uniting seeds.
Birds build nests in bushes and trees.
Each creature lives upon morning deeds.
There, on my knees, my soul shall pray.
Thank Thee, Lord, for another good day.
Please send blessings for friend and foe.
Around the earth, let peacefulness grow.
Every new day sings a soul’s good morning.
Where serenity lies, there are no cries.
Upon the faith in an all-knowing God,
Life can be wonderful, no matter where we trod.
