No Light

NO LIGHT When I look into your eyes I see only darkness Not the darkness of evil but of emptiness for me Your eyes used to hold so much light for me it could replace the sun Bright and full of love never doubt if I wasn’t sent for you from above But as time progressed and the devil settled for nothing less your heart covered with hurt, unforgiven thoughts, and deceit that shadowed my best I had fell from grace in your heart and to you I wasn’t worth a search party for the light because nothing but me gone only seemed right The warmth of your touch turned to a cold limp embrace The sensation of your kiss turned to a dreadful experience The connection through intimacy turned to drunken passion and sober regrets no feelings of love only desires of alcoholic meaningless sex Respect for values and marriage became irrelevant The ring and vows became a materialistic possession and some wasteful verbal misconceptions The need for me dwindled while the attention of others became a must wanting something of lust Praying for better days seems to be of no avail Guess not even God can heal your heart and bring the light again
