Such is the tragedy of that era. A very sad and honest poem. I believe that you've captured the pain and sadness here.

A moving piece. You penned the story well in these four lines. The last line got to me"cleansing, her mom thrown in a hole". I felt the pain and heartache within the verses. In these four lines you said a lot. Excellent job. Good luck in the contest! :) Alexis

N ot to be recognized as human and to be thrown with hundreds in a hole. Not even rats should be treated that way,let along human. Heartwrenching post ,but the truth need to be heard, and may it never repeat itself.

I befriended an elderly lady living in my building and as we sipped tea she told me of what it was like during the war in Poland, the day she told me about her mother, we both wept, I cannot imagine not being able to visit my mothers tomb and placing flowers there, my friend has since passed away but at least she has her name engraved
