Nightmares
Deep is the night when darkness lights;
Sleep hurls new sights in ghastly flights.
Reason is bound in furious fires;
Bitter the ground as dread conspires.
Pain wears a face as evil floods;
Blades cut and trace to spill more blood.
Watch nightmares roam to devour man;
Far from your home such horrors trend.
No retreat here for fallen guests;
Death brings no cheer in morbid fest.
Pictures change fast as patterns swirl;
Glimpses don't last in putrid twirls.
Screams of horror as malice hunts;
Chill in marrow as good souls run.
Cruel strokes come like fiery rain;
A wasteland sums the scourge of pain.
There seems no hope in world gone mad;
No sun to scope or purge the bad.
Here lost is all with chaos and curse;
Nightmares make gall a living purse.
Sense the deep dark when dreams turn black;
Drenched is the spark in utter lack.
The fallen know that nightmare world;
Bitter pain flows as torments swirl.
The dreamer wakes to sweat and tears;
Speechless this take when relief steers.
Awake to zest in a new light;
Live then the best with cheer in sight.
