There are times I refuse to go to sleep after having certain nightmares. Too real they seem. Couldn't have explained this one better myself. Great write! :) Thanks for your comments. Cheers, Alana

Nice one Michael look forward to more of your cinquains.Capitilisation is okay in cinquains ,traditional or modern, as is punctuation etc It's a pretty fluid form .Rgds Brian. Yes I was in my teens in the fifties so the Saturday night dance was the 'thing ',but we danced together in those days, and jive was king.

Michael.. thanks for your comments on my poem "I am truly blessed" this gift for me started in childhood but lay dormant until 1997 the day of my fathers death.. I wrote a poem, and I knew...I call it Dad's Work Shed, it is on this site.. I like this poem of yours.. yes nightmares are often fearsome. but sometimes a message we need to listen to..Constance

We all have them, ...I always try to analyze them...wondering where do they come from, and why? But some are harder than others to figure out. Hope you sleep well tonight, Michael! God Bless...Carrie

Michael this is excellent. I like how you let the words flow. This reminds me of an athlete who has trained consistently hard to win and race and at the finishing line is really close to the person ahead by the split of a hair. I can feel the heart racing like a time clock. Great job! ~Joseph

Nice use of imagery and an interesting perspective for the reader to ponder. Just one thought--I belonged to a cinquain group and they generally don't believe in capitalizing the first letter of each line. Thank you for adding your creative thoughts to "Tidbits". I am so excited about how it is growing and coming together--a tribute to so many talented writers at The Soup. Karen

Michael- Thankyou for your kind comments. These words were picked in perfect order. A correct sequence described leading to the right response in escalating torture. Very nice work.... God bless you Toni and Michaela .All my love for you and yours.

Oh yes, well said. I do wake up with my heart racing. The bad ones are hard to get rid of. Michael, your comments are so appreciated, and quite often simply make my day. Hope you know I feel the same about you. Love & hugs, Shar xoxo
