Night Whispers
I rest in evening’s fine scent
beneath gold veils of summer spent,
where midnight flickers through the trees
and twinkles flow upon the breeze.
I sigh and whisper of content
to catch this eve in soft descent,
within my heart there skips a beat
at day's finality, quite sweet.
There's no flaw here that I observe
as night becomes a softened curve,
this quiet ending to a day,
just beaming for holy display.
I hold my breath in great respect
for this gleam so fully decked,
but silent about all things
which night and all her beauty brings.
