Night Sweats
I awake from a sleep to hear a load scream
It is seeming so real it cannot be a dream
The glass it is breaking and hitting the floor
It is sounding like someone is breaking the door
Do I lay here in silence and feeling the dread
Or get up just screaming and run from my bed
Paralyzed from my head and down to my toes
You can see all my fear I know it just shows
I hear crunching and creaking from out in the hall
From the floor to the ceiling and my breath is in stall
I feel a cold presence and freeze to my bed
It is giving me feelings like I’m gonna be dead
Feeling so scared my spine set to tingle
Wish there was a crowd so I could just mingle
My bed it starts shaking and moving about
I start to just screeching and even to shout
What is the ringing that’s off in my head
I know you can hear all I have just said
The ringing is louder and hard to ignore
Someone please help me of this I implore
There is that ringing it is louder again
The alarm it is sounding from out in the den
With one more time ringing I awake to my scream
I did not realize that I was living a dream
