I adore the solitude of an evening lit by moonlight... clarity is revealed. Your reflective words convey gorgeous imagery Doug. Lovely:)

Hello Doug. The night has a life of its own. It truly does. There was a time I was one of those people. Your entry is lovely and so gentle with imagery. Well done

Yet the dark side could not hold you, Lisa. Ah well.... : )

This is one I can relate to. The moon has an affect on me, as if it speaks to me. I know that sounds weird, but oh well. Nicely done Doug. I liked this a lot. Few lines, much thought.

Thanks, Chris. I love that time - 38 or 40 hours after the exact new moon, at sunset, when you have a chance of seeing that first razor-thin crescent.

We recognize and associate with darkness under an intoxicatingly lit moon.

I'm a confirmed lunatic so I can relate to this one, Doug! I call the Moon, Lakarna. A name I came up with while manic and staring at it one night!

'I call the moon Lakarna' = 7 syllables, Rick, might be a good start for a poem with odd-numbered syllables, as Chris Green mentioned. : ) The moon makes all things better. When I first met my wife, she asked me what was my favorite among the Sun, Moon, and planets. I told her the Moon, and that was the right thing to say.
