Night Diving
You'll push me, and I'll fall
A million glass carnations shattered
under the weight of my collapse
You'll push me, as the moon stands by
a lemon witness, a sour soul
and I'll fall and fall and fall, perhaps...
The rim of the earth will clear itself
of all the thoughts I almost thought
while the water below will splinter me
in a million splashes, all for naught.
You'll push me, and I'll fall
A million platitudes all engulfed
into the swell of sightless sound
You'll push me, as the ocean cries
a silver sentinel, in silver skies
and I'll dive and dive to touch the ground...
