New Year's Resolutions

Resolution Revolution I ain’t changin’ a damn thing …well…maybe sox and underwear… you know….and the batteries in the smoke detector (not sure if the damn thing works since I quit) and—yeah—well you know ---the dogs flea collar but that’s it…..nothin’ else… ‘cept maybe my lottery number and the “Lucky Store” where I play it I ain’t gonna try to “get in shape” as I recently discovered--- “round is a shape” and if I fall and learn to control the roll I can still get a-round…HA! I ain’t gonna change my bad habits either maybe just shuffle them around in order of importance I ain’t chaigin’ …. it took me a long time to get this way sorry if it doesn’t meet with your approval they’re my shoes and I been walkin’ in ‘em for a long while and they fit my weary feet just fine. 12/12/2016 submitted to – New Year’s Resolution – Poetry Contest
