New Years Day 2016 and the Luck of the Black Eyed Peas

New Years Day 2016 And the Luck of The Black Eyed Peas Written: by Tom Wright Jowl and black eyes with crackling corn bread, This once a year meal is entrenched in my head. This yearly ritual is said to bring good fortune, To believe, or not, I always eat a good portion. I admit that for this repast I’m not overly crazed, And would favor a good sirloin, moderately brazed; But again, on New Year’s table, Peas will enhance, While not subscribing to luck, why take a chance? As far back as memory takes me in childhood, With a few exceptions, this has been my New Years Day meal. Habits ingrained in youth, seldom change. Tom
