New

Reams of broken heartstrings lie beside a winding road Like dried tears slightly above our quivering lips The lips attempt, without favour to tug and line them up A din of imagined rhymes slips unseen above A coasting charm rides a sweetly formed incline alongside To mend an untold desire to say something new To charm and rhyme our way to reformed words… But words are dead, caked in the drying tears The tears return, and say nothing new …they just implore a sinking heart to rise unshackled by the dimming sun They pass reviews of us and our chilling past… and still lie dry beside our lives, For strokes and spells to again, brand us new
