A recent true encounter that hurt. I write the verse to understand and lesson the pain.

Never Got the Chance(revised) By Kevin L Fairbrother I’ve moved on, left the hurt, I failed to cement my feelings Feelings that have twisted and knotted deep inside my being My wounded heart bears the pain, my mind a jumble of, why For we had so much love to give one and other and we may never meet again We shared the moments of our past, conversed about our travels and hopes Shared our dreams of happiness for which we are deserving Long into the night and early morn we were engrossed with one and other We could not keep our hands, our lips and bodies from each other But that night and morning a spark was born but failed to ignite The flame of passion, compassion and moments of care for each other Built to a tangle of hand holding, lips together and bodies entwined Together we felt as one our bodies feeling the heat of the encounter Kissing and cuddling holding each other so tight, we could have reached the heights we so desired We were in world, so close to a night filled with passion and love for each other Suddenly she felt this was not right, her past tempered the flame, it went out The memories of her husband and the life they had together, filled her mind She became reserved went back into her shell, the time and place was not right I understood, I could not bring myself to add to the pain and hurt she felt I gave her an embrace and a kiss to wipe away the tears that fell like rain I said I can wait, but you have to let go, and I will be there if you need me Those magic moments of that night I will cherish and remember With a women of beauty encased in a shell as yet unbroken For only time will heal the pain and hurt she feels from the past Gone now, she had left, I never got the chance to say goodbye
