Never Forget
There was a fire burning in New York that day,
But the heat was felt as far as California.
Everyone cried.
If only that flood of a million tears could have put the fire out.
Maybe they would not have had to jump.
Maybe a hundred children or more
would not know how to grow up without having parents.
A daughter, robbed of that wedding walk.
A Son with no one to teach him to drive.
Grandchildren who will never hear rock a bye baby,
From lips that love them
only second to their mommy and daddy.
