Your words, unfortunately, profound, and true. This powerful poem is a sad reflection on the forces of evil that still exist. Unthinkable, but yes...it could happen again. Well done, Joe...

Loved how you incorporated the soles line into the poem to go with the million souls lost. That was my favorite stanza. I wrote about this but it doesn't include the words shoes. When I saw the picture, I could not even tell they were shoes and coming back again, I realize it was supposed to be about the shoes? What do you think? Could I just write of the horrors of the prison without mentioning the shoes? Luv, andrea
