Nature's Uneasy Patrons

Beauty unseen at the waterfall's edge The danger below at waterfall's edge The edge of the waterfall's descent The cutting jagged rocks all she'll ever know My darling climbs Beautiful rhythm at the ocean's edge The danger within at the ocean's edge The edge of the ocean's expanse The undertow's liquid flow all he'll ever know My darling swims Beautiful greenery at the forest's edge The danger lurks shadowed at forest's edge The edge of the forest's canopy The stinging pain of venom all they'll ever know My darlings hike My darlings wander these rivers and these shores These forests, these mountains, just doing their chores Warning the stranger of what lie ahead And welcoming them all to the land of the dead My darlings roam

Interesting work..If for a contest, good luck..I haven't looked at that contest..Reads like a winner..I am kind of lost though because I am not sure of the exact meaning...My vultures circling came from my viewing them one morn out on the porch..Sometimes though vultures circling are not vultures circling but what some people are doing..Thanks for stopping by..Sara

Thanks for your kind comments Sara. This poem was referring to the spirits of those who died in nature, while being adventurous. The unseen dangers if you will.
