Enjoyed reading this first Tanka of yours, Sara! A Tanka follows a simple rule as does also the Haiku. The original (Japanese) form of a Tanka is: First line - 5 syllables, followed by 7 in line two and again 5 for line three. Then two lines are left out and it continues wit 7 in line 6 and 7 in line 7. Suject is also nature as it is in a Haiku. You'll do fine with writing Tankas!...Have a nice weekend...Gert
