Naptime
Of all your cherished things, you think of one,
That sleepy feeling falling on your head,
That warm enveloping embrace of sun
(Imagine dancing softly on a beam!)
That bright, bright sunshine falling on your bed.
You jump! You soar! -And quick- prepare to dream
Your purple pillow soft as soft can be
And green, your blanket wraps you super snug
But smiles keep you wide awake to see
The window's panes contain a glimpse of rain
Which falling, wraps the leaves just like a hug
And makes for shiny and shimmering trees.
How can a wond'ring child's heart refrain
From -Secret! ....quietly....starting....to....sing?
Shhh! It's naptime, Anna...
