Names In the Night
Bullet scarred walls screamed their names in the night;
Men who had been targeted for no fault of their own.
Sirens blasted the silence as we watched their souls rise, for their final call;
Too many brave officers cut down in their prime.
No amount of reparation or jury decree, can ever again give witness,
to the love we have lost;
Loved ones taken forever, to a much higher plane.
Repercussions from politics, reverberations from the streets;
Each side has a story, with many shades in- between.
Killing's not the answer, it will never be -
Bullet scarred walls screamed their names in the night.
