Naive

How terribly naïve To believe That you would never lie It isn’t even a question of why I treasured trust like a jewel What an idealistic fool I must be deaf I must be blind To have thought you were so kind I used to be so dumb But now what a skeptic I’ve become I thought you had class You took a heart of gold and turned it into brass Perhaps I should thank you It’s the proper thing to do Thanks for showing me people aren’t what they seem Now I’ve awoken from my ignorant dream
