My World

I have built my world around you Brick by brick I watched it grow How I lived before without you Darling I shall never know These past years we’ve been together Have been the happiest of my life The greatest joy I did encounter Was when you became my wife Life is tough it’s never easy But with you there by my side I can face its bitter moments And hold my head up high with pride Arm in arm we’ll walk together Side by side we shall lay down Hand in hand each precious moment Sharing every smile and frown The gift you gave us of our daughter Is one that I cannot repay What pleasure dear it is to see her Smiling at us every day Oh my darling how I love you And I love our daughter too I’m so happy that I’m sharing Every single day with you

That is so beautiful Robert, your wife sounds like a lovely person, you write very much like Pete, it is a lovely tribute to both your wife and daughter............Vera............

Thank you Vera it is simplistic in its creation maybe even cliche, but it did come from my heart and flowed effortlessly onto the page. Thank you and Peter for your support, it is most appreciated. Andy

Well, if this is your world Robert, life's good. Wonderful tribute to your wife and your life. This has more of a couplet or rhyming scheme to it than free verse. Just a note. I'm not much of a stickler for poetic style protocol. Such a nice poem Robert. Enjoyed. Peace. :)
