My Wild Irish Heart - Kelly Green

My wild Irish heart - what could it do that March when into my sweet girlhood blew euphoria to make my heart careen? Oh, heart as fresh as clover - kelly green - when zephyr brought its scent of something new. The breeze caressed me; all was made askew, for what it had been carrying was you! Beneath my tender breast there throbbed, unseen, my wild Irish heart. You bridled it and then you pierced it through. Yet wilder than before and tough it grew. For in your aftermath, I was to glean the lessons that my youth had not foreseen - and evermore would pulse in me - now blue - my wild Irish heart! Originally For Sandy Ivy's Go Green - what green means to you? (new or old poem)Poetry Contest and now for Linda's Get your GREEN on!!! (Get into the spirit and Go Green) Happy March17 (old/new poems)Poetry Contest

Congratulations on your placement Andrea. I agree, it was so nice to be able to use an older poem when we get so busy. Hope you are having a very Happy Easter. Carissa just went home with Mommy and now I can finish watching The Bible filmed in 2013. It is on the History Channel today. :)

Hi Andrea, an excellent write once again. The words drew me in to the heart of this piece. I Love the joyful swing of this song. The Irish heart, it sings in emerald dreams. This is a seven and it sings its way into my faves....MIKE.

This is lovely and enchanting poem. I see you had a win in this contest Andrea. There is no doubt in my mind that you have an Irish background. My mother is from Scotland. You have such an amazing talent for writing so many different types of poetry. If I wasn't so ill, I could write more. I was not aware there were so many different types. I will read more of them. Just brilliant. Pam x

Alas, a broken Irish heart. Though I am a Scot, I dig this piece. My son, Arthur, delved into the derivation of 'Austin' and discovered it was of Scottish origin. Love, daver

A heart that was green as a bean. Was turned blue by one who's mean. Is still regal within our queen.
