My Vine

My Vine BY HEROLDOSMOND OWOSEB Though thy leafs are dry in the winter The taste of thy sweet love keeps my roots wet Though thy stem doubt’th to see the fruit of it’s perseverance With determination I anchor my trust in the smell of thy fragrance Winds blow mightily along the seeds of my love but fear’th I not For my love is not just a seed It germinated long before the birth of the wind My love a whisper so soft though so powerful So fairy but always true Though pictures of doubt overpower my state of mind during the day A soft gentle whisper wakes me at night “Do not frown, do not drown in the thought of loss Thee will love and thee will be loved. Thy heart will rejoice in the thought of everlasting happiness” My beauteous queen Though thee be uncertain of thyself and loose sight of thy beauty I shall be thy eyes; I shall remove thy doubt The echo of thy voice may drift out to sea But the melody of thy song, will bring forth a soothing breeze to my soul Forever I will write For the color of my love ought never to be red It will blossom with orange For my love is neither dead nor fading It is as fresh as the first day of spring No longer will there be a winter For the dangers of winter, are no longer dangers to fear Simply reminders of my endurance Though thy reply may faintly fade like the color of the leafs The roots of my vine will be eternally impregnable 8 June 2011
