My Unsung Hero

My Unsung Hero O' so tiny, a son born at twenty-four ounces now laughter rings, as on my knee he bounces Fought, such a fighter for sweet life was he precious fruit from our great Love Tree! I held him as breast milk he was gravity fed still we remember all those tears we shed Ninety days in the hospital he stayed to heal now watch him sing, laugh and loudly squeal! Seven long years he has been healing now a miracle granted when we pray and bow Relief as more weight is all he now needs thank God for his life , joy that it seeds! Our son, a brave fighter that fought to make it! A miracle gifted , a blessing , happily we take it! Robert J. Lindley, 07-29-2014 Carol Eastman's, "Unsung Hero Contest" Note: Based upon the premature birth of our son Justin at just 24 ounces and his 3 months in hospital , coming home at only three and a half pounds. Two operations later and 4 years on an urinary reflux antibiotic he has now made it to seven years old!!!! God heals and blesses..

My senior moment..... This write could not place since I never got around to entering it! I post it and then got a phone call about my daughter having a problem with her second pregnancy. Then thought I had entered it.. LOL I saw the winners list and then wonder why didn't even get an honorable mention. Checked my contest entries and only then saw that I had not entered it, duhhhhh! LOL

Wow! Robert. God has truly blessed your family. Your son is so fortunate to have parents that know the importance of God's loving power. Sounds like your son is a fighter, just like his dad. Thanks for sharing this beautiful story, my friend. Very well written.... Robert.

I want to thank each person for their kindness and great replies to this write.. I wrote it once and deleted it because I didn't want to show this much of my pain. Then a voice in me told me to write another, a better one and share it! This I did. I hope it may help others know that man triumphs when he asks God for help. I had just finished and posted a new poem about that mere seconds before checking in here finding such wonderful comments. Thanks so much!!!!!

Your comments are 2nd to none! much appreciation for the time put into your craft, as well making time to feed others with strength! MUCH RESPECT! Time is sooo tricky, the way it sifts away, faster and faster as we age.
