My Stranger

Oh Stranger of my bittersweet dreams You are truly real, as real as me. Oh Stranger you are finally here Holding my hand and drying my tears You believe in me just as in my dreams You pick me up each time I stumble And cheer me on when all are silent. You truly do understand my agonized past And long with all your heart to be my future. Can you really be the man of my dreams? Or will you disappear the moment I reach out? You grab my hand and pull me close Hold me tight and don’t let go. You touch my face and look into my eyes Looking through me as none before You see my heart, my soul, my inner me. Oh stranger you are real, you are. You chase my troubles away As though an enemy to my soul Silence falls upon us as you whisper in my ear Sweet words of love and peace as if, As if the Lord speaks gently through you He has heard my pain and answered my cries Given me you and calmed my soul. I ask but one thing gentle stranger That you never leave me alone You oh dear sweet stranger are my best of friends A gift from above, an answer to my prayers.
