My Star

Looking both ways, there is no where to turn, Looking behind me, I don’t want that no more, Looking ahead, I’m completely unsure. Afraid to go left, afraid to go right, Unknowing of what is awaiting each side, Knowing one side, Could possibly make life happy, Knowing the other, May make life unhappy, Feeling so lost in this huge world, No one to turn to, No one to share with, No one to pour out my heart to, No one to lay my head on their shoulder, These are just feelings as I have my star, It’s small and it’s bright, It’s so lost in this vast sky, But there it shines, in a way watching over me, There when I need it to shine light on my way, There when I need it to tell it my fears, There when I need it whenever I call, For it never moves, it won’t leave, It won’t judge me, Or try to change me, It will remain, Solid. I am not afraid of the future, Because I know what I must do, I know that to be happy in some ways, We need to be unhappy in others, Hearts mend, Ties are tied back up, But the heart can’t lie, And mine won’t lie anymore.
