My Special Place

In my youth, I enjoyed the amusement park, Sliding down the giant Slide was a thrilling Ride. On the roller coaster, I was happy as a lark. Would Try to touch the Sky, but it would hide. Had so much Fun in the Sun, I didn't want to go. Enjoyed how the merry-go-round went real fast, When the ride ended, I wanted to yell no. Would Stay all Day; it was such a blast! Leaving was Sad, but I Had a wonderful time, walking out the gate, I’d plan my next trip. As I waved Bye, My spirit felt sublime, It was an excellent place, a unique relationship. In my fourteenth Year was my greatest Fear, we moved to a Town with no such parks Around. Had to find something to hold Near and Dear, I found poetry; I’d write from sunup to sundown. 11/15/2020

We never forget our childhood playgrounds Alexis... Sadly, many of them are not around these days as we live in a concrete jungle..

When I was young I lived near a fairground, what joy we had when the fair came round, three times a year. Now I’d be afraid of the fast rides, happy to leave it all behind, same as you poetry fills my time and mind. Loved the poem, Belle:-)
