My Sister and Me
We grew up like twins, but one year apart.
As young women we lived thru each milestone.
Our lives reconnected from time to time,
When husbands were gone, kids out on their own.
Now back together we live side by side.
In old age we’re a comical pair, and,
With our bad knees when we come to a curb,
She helps me up, then I give her a hand!
She’s always there during good times and bad.
A bond like ours is strong and somewhat rare,
So we’ve made a vow to reach eighty two,
Then GOD willing add a few years from there.
We are as close as two siblings can be…
A match made by GOD, my sister and me.
