My Silence
What love is this?
To put myself through this torment, so I can see you happy and confirm my fears?
Oh if I could still my conscious and hold out hope!
Almost every part of me screams to tell you that I will love you as you should be loved; that I'm not looking for you to fulfill any void, simply that I long for your happiness; that you are the most amazing creature and that my soul is enamored
with yours!
But you do not look at me the way you looked at her… I am not the one.
Love does not give me courage.
Love gives me the means by which I willfully lose you.
Perhaps my fears and I will quietly fade away in the shadows of your future, but at least then I will know my silence was, in fact, the sincerest love I've ever know.
