My Rose Garden

newly risen reaching to the sun... here grow my dreams tender-budded  shades of palest pink... here grow my hopes purest white folding into pearl... here grow my truths palest yellow softly touched with rose... here grows my love intertwined  climbing rusted scrolls... here grows my trust crowned with crimson  bowing towards the earth... here grows my wisdom open-petaled flushed with summer’s sun... here grows my faith ripe with color yearning toward heaven... here grows my life [...with particular recognition and gratitude to Mr. Charles Henderson]

Deb, I so love poems with Roses in them, and this one is no exception. It's so lovely. They are one of the few topics I like to concentrate on when writing. The others being butterflies and elves. I love to incorporate them in fantasy writes. My oh my, I am so enjoying this morning of reading your work....James :)

dreams, hope, and truth to help one find and recognize love, therein learning to trust and grow in wisdom, to foster faith in one's life which is pointed toward a glorius end. You have said a mouthful my dear poet. You gave me credit, but the work was all yours. cgh

I have taken your advice, Charles; I omitted the last line, and also changed the last verse to incorporate the word 'life' in an effort to convey the essence of my thoughts as I wrote this poem. I hope these changes fit the definition of a senryu. I am quite honored by your words; thank you.

These would be haiku, but the last line reference to human trait make them a senryu. Very, Very good senryu all except the last. You should go on line to find out why they are so good. and they are, I know. This may be your gift, I know it is mine.

A panoply of colors and a plethora of flowering stages nicely spliced together. Enjoyed your artistic endeavor. It has much literary merit. Look forward to dabbling into more of your metaphorical homilies!
