My Rose

Like blowing a kiss from my open palm to you Catching it in mid air Holding it in my mind's eye The colour of passion satin petals falling outward Opening it's velvety silken heart Blushing petals in beauty picture perfect Falling down your stem above the thorns Sitting regally crowned On the air's heavenly scent In my eyes You are my candy In the morning dew upon you like crystal teardrops falling to the ground When the sun smiles at you kissing you with a beautiful rays Sparkling your divine beauty Scarlet red blushing You sit in your high heaven's with silken petals they say it all Kissed by your heavenly aroma Crowned the queen my red rose

I can see why this poem won first place in a competition! The vivid imagery makes the reader actually smell the "heavenly aroma" of the roses. Amazing poetry!....Thank you so much for your nice comments on my poem, "The Shy Rose". Yes, not all of my poems are dark, sad and dreary! :)
