My Prayers At Night

Lord, Can I see your face tonight? Will you be my companion When no one else is in sight? Will you come to me Perhaps in a dream, And tell me of your will for me? Lord, help me to understand your ways, I want to know you for eternity And not just for today. Lord, can you heal the world And make us new? Can you shut out evil So we can be with you? I can see myself now At your pearly gates, Waiting just to see your face. I will lift my hand And shout your name, “Here I am!” I will say. Lord! Lift me up where I belong, Live in my heart and make me strong. I think of you Each moment of each day, And I pray thee Lord Take me away. Show me your wonders! Show me your grace! Show me dear Lord, Your gentle face.
