Listen to poem:
My prayer...I wish to be with you always, for only you can make my heart strings chime. Heaven on earth...my life in many ways, from morn until ebb tide past twilight time. For only you can make my heart strings chime; you are my dream, the answer to my prayer, from morn until ebb tide past twilight time, heaven on earth is mine beyond compare. You are my dream, the answer to my prayer; you have the magic touch that makes me glow. Heaven on earth is mine beyond compare; my prayer was surely answered, that I know. You have the magic touch that makes me glow; heaven on earth...my life in many ways. My prayer was surely answered, that I know... my prayer...I wish to be with you always. May 15, 2016 Premiere Contest: 2022 Poetry Marathon - Mile 8 Sponsor: Mark Toney The songs I used (in bold letters) were recorded by The Platters, a musical group popular in the '50s and '60s:

Sandra, here's another one I remember from a previous contest... Silent One's 'Musical Pantoum' contest from 2016. So fun to read this again (though it appears I didn't comment before) but I remember you using all those great Platters songs. What a magnificent group they were. Great to see you earn another win with this enchanting pantoum ~ John

Thank you so much, John, for your visit and encouraging comments on my poem. So nice of you to remember it from a contest that long ago! The Platters' songs are among my and my hubby's favorites, and 'Only You' was our wedding song.

Never heard of the Platters, before. But I did like your pantoum, Sandra. What a fun way to do a poem ... with a tip of the hat to those songs that always stick with you. Very nicely written.

Hi, Timothy, thank you again for stopping by with your always uplifting comments, which I appreciate very much. The Platters were from the 50s-60s era but are still well-loved today. 'Only You' is our song when we got married in 1958! Here's a link on YouTube if you'd like to hear it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0mWVVSkYHo
