My Perfect Man

The only reason I get up in the morning Is to say “hello” to you There’s no one else, no other purpose I swear, I promise it’s true I’ve always looked for my perfect man To love me and take care of me To hold me close and hug me tight To be whatever I need him to be I need a Provider, to give me things— The necessities of life I need a Comforter to soothe my pain When my troubles seem so rife I need a Teacher to instruct me To teach me the right way A Leader who will guide me Even when I start to stray The perfect man will love me If for him, I did the same He’d be the type to forgive completely When I’ve put myself to shame When I’ve cried my eyes out From the guilt inside my heart He’d wait for me to come back to him To give me a fresh start And when I make it back Into his arms, I’ll run He’ll tell me that he forgives me And will forget the things I’ve done … So I thank you God, for everything For all that you are to me For loving me and forgiving me For being the Father I need you to be
