My Parting Gifts
Are there words enough to say goodbye?
Words to give you answers why
When someone leaves you all alone
Are there words to keep you strong?
Here's my parting gift to you
Nothing gold, just drops of rain
reminding you that nothing's gone
May I leave you this one thought
Love never dies, but carries on
Here's a river, left for you
It changes into something new
Just as raindrops falling down
fills a river, with new songs
Ever changing, but never gone
Beyond the landscape of a different time,
where I must go alone,
you will see the sun goes down,
and there will be a star for you
Nights will unfold a fragile place.
Paths I've walked will be the same.
Love, lives on, across the cold,
beyond the landscape to enfold
another way, a different time
