My Own Paradise
I sat, all peaceful and calm
It was in the evening and it was warm
I opened a book and turned a few pages
Then, I let out a sign and let my mind make up images
I was bored
I felt old
Sitting always in the orangery
Sitting and waiting like the lonely
I turned my head and looked at the skies
And I dreamed of paradise
I dreamed of angels
Laughing and chiming bells
Of Gods and Goddesses
Being all in love and ageless
Of Time and its eternal nature
Of each day being like an adventure
Of protection
From all abomination
Of beauty
In its immensity
A life in paradise
For such I did wish
For such I did yearn
A life lived like the butterflies
All graceful, with talent in bountiful
With solace and grace
A life lived by writing many a poem
Many, many, many more of them!
Why, should we be envious of the other world
Someday we shall be there
Someday we shall be there
Pray, have faith in the reward that we shall earn!
