My Own Disease

Every night I cry Always asking why Why is it that I chain myself To this mental prison cell Crawling on my hands and knees Knowing I’m my own disease This heart is my enemy I am my own disease So much pain held within my chest Nightmares come whenever I lay to rest If you could ever see everything in my past I know this love could never last Crawling on my hands and knees Knowing I’m my own disease This heart is my enemy I am my own disease If you could truly see The darker side of me You would see the demons within Trying to kill me with my sin Every night I stand in awe Knowing I stand broken in his law God sees the darkness of my sin Still Christ died to let me in Crawling on my hands and knees Knowing I’m my own disease This heart is my enemy I am my own disease
