My Mum a Guiding Light

The angels came and stood by your bed And these are the words I think they said You have suffered more than you can stand So come with us now to a better land So a parcel was sent to heaven Tied upon the wings of a dove It had to be opened carefully Cause it was filled with so much love Now a very special angel She means a lot to me She was once my mum here on earth But that wasn't long to be Now I know she watches over I feel her presence near She's always there to listen And guide me through my fears Today like every other I know that she will share At sometime something will happen And I'll know that she is here Her spirit goes on in all of us And I can hear her say Don't be the same as everyone else Do what you want your own way I know today she'll be smiling And doing everything to make it right I know tonight in dark I'll see For she'll be my guiding light I know that she's never far away It's the love inside my heart It lets me know that Mum is there Even though we're miles apart The angels came and stood by my bed And these are the words I know they said Your mother has not gone away She's with you each and everyday! 22 April 2016
